Brighton Le Sands Hotel in Sydney was the venue for 1981 IFBB Pro-Universe Contest. With a great line-up including overseas contestants the calibre of Dennis Tinerino, Tony Pearson, Carlos Rodrigues, Hubert Metz, Johnny Fuller, Steve Davis, Don Ross, Australia’s own Roger Walker and Victoria’s Graeme Lancefield. Bertil Fox was a late withdrawal from the contest with a back injury. He still guest posed, as did 52 year old head judge Bill Pearl.
Roger Walker lead after Pre-Judging. Bill Pearl had advised Roger of this and also that a judge would be withdrawn due to illness. Once the dust settle Dennis Tinerino would take the title by one solitary point ahead of Roger Walker.
