Roger Walker, flew down from Sydney to win the 1981 P.B.B.I. Mr East Coast and the $1000 cash prize, which shocked the other P.B.B.I. professionals entered into the event. Roger had been booked to conduct seminars at Frank Burwash’s Gym and his entry was kept from the other competitors to avoid any late withdrawals.
The contest report states that pre-contest favourite Milton Hadjigeorgiou threatened to walk out, which threw promoters Rocco Oppedisano and Frank Burwash into a turmoil. The popular Hadjigeorgiou had a large local following that booed Walker at every opportunity. Looks like this show had everything!
